Spiritual Warfare is a battle between good and evil. It is not a physical battle, but a spiritual battle. Satan and his demonic spirits try to destroy the will of God for an individual's life. So the Spiritual Battle is between God’s will for an individual and Satan’s desired will for that individual. The two spirits (good and evil) clash. So Spiritual Warfare is a battle between good and evil in the spirit realm not the physical.
The spiritual gift of discernment, also known as the "gift of discernment" or "discerning of spirits” is necessary to see with your spiritual eyes and understand when a spiritual battle has taken place or about to take place in the spirit realm. Spiritual Gifts are assigned by the Holy Spirit. The gift of discernment enables Christians with the ability to fulfill their God-given calling through the Holy Spirit, to clearly recognize a spiritual battle, and to see the demonic spirits Satan has assigned to an individual and to see the area in an individuals life being attacked. This gift is necessary for those with this gift to warn believers in time of danger and to keep them from being led astray by Satan's deceptive motives to block the will of God for their life. 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 says, "7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit.”
The Plan of Attack is described in Ephesians 6:13-18, “13 Wherefore take unto you The Whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;…”
You must cover yourself with The Blood of Jesus.
Deliverance Prayer - refers to the activity of cleansing a person of demons and evil spirits in order to address problems manifesting in their life as a result of the presence of said entities for an individual’s life.
Special Breakthrough - A term given when there has been successful spiritual warfare; that’s when “Prayer Warriors” (God’s Intercessors) have interceded (prayed) a deliverance prayer during spiritual warfare and have broken through the enemy’s camp and set the captives free. Those individuals who were bound and blocked by Satan and his demon army from doing the will of God for their lives. Psalm 91:3-4, “3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.”
Restoration - means the action of returning what was stolen and destroyed by Satan to the original owner, place, or condition.
Santan's Demise - what will happen to Satan and his demonic kingdom during end times. Revelation 20:1-3, “1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.”
Who is Satan? Satan was an Archangel named Lucifer. He was the highest-ranking angel of all. His name means “bearer of light” or “morning star.” But Lucifer was full of pride and wanted to be God. He wanted to take the replace of God, his creator. So there arose a battle in heaven. In Revelation 12:7-9, the holy scriptures tell us that a big battle arose in heaven. Archangel Michael and his warring angels fought Lucifer, the dragon, and his angels. Archangel Michael and his warring angels over took Lucifer and his angels and they were cast out of heaven down to earth. Where they travel walketh about seeking whom they may devour, 1 Peter 5:8.
When Satan was cast out of heaven. Two-thirds of the angels in heaven who followed him and were cast out as well. God, our creator, is a God of love. He loved his creation (angels and mankind) so much that he gave us all free-will. Free-will to love, serve and obey him. He does not want to force us to love him. He wants us to love him because we truly want to and love him not because we are being forced to. The angels who followed Satan had a choice, they chose Satan.
Lucifer’s name was changed to Satan, after being cast out of heaven, because he was no longer a bright and “morning star,” but a dark evil spirit. The name Satan means, the chief evil spirit. He is also known as the accuser, the thief, the great adversary of humanity, and the DEVIL. Ever since Satan was kicked (cast) out of heaven for trying to replace God, he has been down here on earth trying hard to convince individuals he is the one all while knowing that his time here on earth is short and when Christ returns he and all his evil kingdom will be thrown in the pit of hell for all eternity.
Several scriptures describe Satan’s purpose while down on earth:
When Satan was thrown out of heaven, where did he go you might ask? In other words, where does he reside? Satan’s kingdom resides in the second heaven. There are actually three heavens mentioned in the bible. In Genesis 1:1, the bible states there is more than one heaven, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
1. First Heaven. In Jeremiah 4:25, the bible describes the first heaven, “I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.” The first heaven is known as the atmospheric heaven (the atmosphere). The first heaven is where man resides.
2. Second Heaven. In Genesis 22:17, the bible describes the second heaven, “That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the seashore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.” The second heaven is known as the celestial or stellar heaven (the stars and planets). The second heaven is where Satan’s kingdom resides.
3. Third Heaven. In 2 Corinthians 12:2, the bible describes the third heaven, “I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such as one caught up to the third heaven.” The place where God resides. The third heaven is the dwelling place of God and all the heavenly hosts.
As stated earlier, Satan’s main purpose is to roam the earth stealing, killing, destroying God’s will for his children, who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. His true followers, who not only study his word (the holy scriptures) but apply the word of God to their lives. James 1:22 says, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
When you are able to discern what Satan is doing, then It’s time to start playing hardball with the Devil. It’s time to let Satan know you are aware of what he’s trying to do. Destroy what you’re trying to accomplish and what God is trying to accomplish through you. It’s time for all Intercessors (Prayer Warriors) to join together in this battle and tell Satan to get out of the way of progress. You can’t accomplish what you need to do, because Satan has you blocked at every turn. You become involved with the individuals Satan has assigned to cause chaos in your life and begin physically attacking them. When you should be attacking the demonic spirits within those individuals who are the real enemy. In Ephesians the word says that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the evil spirits assigned to do the harm. So your fight is not with the physical, but with the spiritual in the spirit realm. SATAN is using individuals to torment, harass, steal, kill, and destroy what God is trying to do through you. These attacks are done using demonic spirits (evil spirits) and as you know evil spirits can not be seen with the physical eye only in the spirit realm, and are manifested in the physical through an individual’s behavior. These evil spirits are: the spirit of jealousy, the spirit of envy, the spirit of unforgiveness, the spirit of lying, the spirit of confusion, the spirit of anger, the spirit of destruction, the spirit of adultery, etc. They look for your weaknesses and that’s where they set up shop and begin to work. Ask God to show you your weaknesses, because if you don’t know them, you can rest assured Satan knows. Remember the battle is not with individuals (flesh and blood), but with demonic spirits (evil spirits) sent to block and destroy God’s will for your life.
Another thing, Satan only knows what we put out into the universe, what we speak. He is not:
When we are fighting Satan, this is called Spiritual Warfare. The individuals Satan uses to do his evil deeds are Satan’s puppets. We must pray for them that they come to the realization they are on the wrong team and are headed straight to hell. Satan assigns demonic spirits to look for individuals who our weaknesses so he knows what to work on to try and get us to lose faith in God and disobey his commandments, statues.
As a Christian, God has given his Children instructions on how to fight back and it’s all in the Holy Bible. As with the military, there are certain requirements that a recruit must fulfill and one of them are the recruit must be “physically fit.” The same with a Christian, there are certain requirements in order to qualify for spiritual warfare,” and the recruit must be “spiritually fit.” Below are requirements that will qualify you for spiritual warfare:
Have you been saved; received salvation?
If you answer NO, then you are unable to participate in “Spiritual Warfare.” You may know and understand who your enemy is, but you do not have the authority to participate in a spiritual battle with Satan. “15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen,” Mark 16:15-20.
a. How to be Saved
b. How To Receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
Romans 10:9-10, 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Ephesians 2:8, 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Acts 16:31, 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. If so, here is a simple prayer you can pray to God. Saying this prayer is a way to declare to God that you are relying on Jesus Christ for your salvation. The words themselves will not save you. Only faith in Jesus Christ can provide salvation:
c. Pray the Sinners' Prayer: “Heavenly Father, I come to You now admitting that I am a sinner. Right now, I choose to turn away from sin, and I ask You to cleanse me of all unrighteousness. I believe that Your Son, Jesus, died on the cross to take away my sins. I also believe that He rose again from the dead so that I might be forgiven of my sins and made righteous through faith in Him. I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus is Lord. I call upon the name of Jesus Christ to be the Savior and Lord of my life. Jesus, I choose to follow You and ask that you fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit. I declare that right now I am a child of God. I am free from sin and full of the righteousness of God. I am saved in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
1. If your answer is YES, then proceed with question 2 (two).
2. Have you been Baptised?
3. Do you have AUTHORITY given by the Holy Spirit to battle Satan? Matthew 10:1, 8, “10 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.”
4. Have you received the HOLY SPIRIT (GHOST)? Acts 2:38, “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
5. Are you operating in your SPIRITUAL GIFTS? Corinthians 12:8-10, “8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:”
6. Are you producing SPIRITUAL FRUITS? Galatians 5:22-23, “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
7. Do you PRAY according to Matthew 6:5-8, “5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. 7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him”?
8. Do you FAST according to Matthew 6:16-18, “16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; 18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly”?
9. Do you MEDITATE according to Psalm 1:1-3, “1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper”?
10. Do you study the BIBLE according to 2 Timothy 2:15, “15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”?
11. Do you have a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with our Lord and Savour Jesus Christ; that is, are you listening to the Holy Spirit and walking in obedience to the will of God according to Psalms 37:4-5, “4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass”?
If you answered NO to any one of the questions above, then these are areas you need to fast and pray about. You must be fit for battle. In order words, you must be healthy, both physically and spiritually fit for spiritual warfare. While you are getting spiritual fit and working on the areas you are weak, you can ask “Prayer Warriors”, also called God’s Intercessors to pray for you, you can ask God to send the Archangel Michael to help and the “warring angels” to fight for you. Talk to God about your circumstance all the time. "16 Rejoice evermore. 17 Pray without ceasing. 18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you," 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.
If you can answer YES to all the questions above, then you are “spiritually fit” for Spiritual Warfare. Proceed to prepare your plan of attack and next steps under the direction of the Holy Spirit.
The plan of attack is to strategize your battle plan:
1. Who gives the Authority - Believing and knowing your authority to enter into spiritual warfare against Satan; that is, receive authorization to perform battle, is key. Luke 10:17-19, “17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
2. Pray for the spiritual gift of discernment in order to see when where and how Satan has attacked an individual and get clear instructions from the Holy Spirit on when where and how to attack Satan.
3. Enter battle with clean hands. Confess, repent and ask God for forgiveness of your sins and iniquities.
Put on your spiritual armor to protect youself while in spiritual battle. Ephesians 6:10-20, “13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me , that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
Sample Prayer - The Whole Armor of God
Dear Heavenly Father, I praise and worship you because you are God. I am honored to be your servant and I take my stand today against the demon and his schemes against me. Father, as I take up each piece of the armor, please secure it in place on me.
You must cover yourself with the blood of Jesus. Revelation 12:10-12, “10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”
Sample Prayer - The Blood of Jesus
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray for the ministry you have for me. Anoint me God for all you have called me to do for you. I call forth divine appointments, open doors of opportunity; God ordained encounters and ministry positions. I claim a hedge of protection, by the Precious Blood of Jesus, around me, throughout this day and every day to come. I ask You God, in the name of Jesus, to dispatch angels to surround me, today and 33every day, and to put the angels throughout our homes and around our cars, souls and bodies and all that we are, have and possess. I call on your holy angels to protect our homes from any intrusion and to protect me, from any harmful demonic or other physical or mental attacks. I ask Heavenly Father to send Archangel Michael and warring angels to do battle for me. And I pray a veil over me, so that the demons will be blind and deaf to me, and unable to discern my spirit, my movement, my thoughts, my prayers, and my speech, to prevent them from attacking me. These things I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Heavenly Father, I bind first Satan, his principalities, his powers, his rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places, all demons, imps, and unholy spirits up their chain of command on assignment against President Trump, his family, his administration, his supporters, and the prayer warriors interceding on his behalf; I break down every stronghold blocking your divine will for President Trump and America; I loose President Trump, his family, his administration, his supporters, and the prayer warriors interceding on his behalf from the hold these evil spirits have on them; and I CAST OUT all demons and unclean spirits to wander or walk dry places seeking rest and protection and finding none till the angels gather them and cast them into the fiery furnace and to never roam and return again; and Father, by trusting faith this day and every day to come that Satan cannot retaliate, take revenge, or get even with me in any way, manner or form, to or through any individual, organization, adversary, would-be adversary, or demon spirit. Spiritual Breakthrough is a term given when there has been successful spiritual warfare; that’s when “Prayer Warriors” (God’s Intercessors) have interceded (prayed) a deliverance prayer during spiritual warfare and have broken through the enemy’s camp and set the captives free. Those individuals who were bound and blocked by Satan and his demonic army from doing the will of God for their lives." Psalm 91:3-4. "3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler."
a. Battle Songs of Victory – Listen and/or sing songs of praise and victory.
b. Prayer Language – If you have the spiritual gift of tongues (your heavenly prayer language) speak in tongues to confound Satan. He cannot understand your words.
c. Pray Without Ceasing - Continue the process and prayer until there is victory; in other words until you see a “Spiritual Breakthrough,” which is a term given when there has been a successful spiritual warfare. It's when the "Prayer Warriors, " God's Intercessors, have interceded (prayed) and have broken through the enemy's (Satan's) camp and were able to set the captives free. Those individuals who were bound and blocked by Satan and his demonic spirits (evil spirits) from doing the will of God for their lives. Psalm 91:3-4, "3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler."
If the thief (Satan) has been caught stealing, killing, and destroying the property of a child of God, then he is required to return every thing to the rightful owner sevenfold. In Proverbs 6:31, "But if he (the thief/Satan) be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house." If an individual who has the spiritual gift of discernment (1 Corinthians 12:7-11}; that is, a person who has the ability to know what lies behind a person’s words or actions and can see whether something is holy or demonic; good or evil; right or wrong, An individual who can recognize the presence of Satan in any situation. That individual has the ability to recognize the thief (Satan), the one who is blocking the will of God for their life. Because they are able see Satan's handy work, they have caught Satan "red-handed;" that is, with blood on his hands Satan will have to return every he has stolen, killed, or destroyed sevenfold.
Remember the story of Job. Satan took everything Job had trying to get him to turn his back on God. But when Job opened his eyes and saw that his troubles came from the hand work of Satan and not anything he had done, the thief was caught red-handed, and immediately the things that were taken from Job were restored. Job 42:10, "And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. "GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME." Just continue to trust in him and remain obedient to his word.
In Revelation 20:1-3 the word of God says, "And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, and cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season."
