“Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS)”, the first time I heard the words it was in a Southern Baptist Church located in Atlanta, Georgia. Being raised in Northern California, attended a Baptist church, saved at the age of ten under the teachings of a Baptist minister, I found the words intriguing. But what do the words actually mean? The pastor, who spoke the words, encouraged his congregation to read “Systematic Theology: An Introduction to Biblical Doctrine” a book written by Wayne Grudem. Sorry to say this, but the book title should read “Systematic Theology: An Introduction to FALSE Biblical Doctrine,” but I digress. Let me continue with my story and soon you too will know why I feel the doctrine is not biblical; it is a false teaching of the word of God. Having a lot of faith, love, and respect for the pastor teaching the doctrine, I decided to purchase the book and read hoping to further enlighten my biblical knowledge. I was enlightened but not in the way I had hoped. I eagerly began to read excerpts from the book cover. The words once saved always saved sounded great, but it troubled my spirit. As I continued to read the first few pages, the Holy Spirit stopped me from reading further and informed me to notice something very important about the writing. There were no biblical scriptures referenced to support the author's statements. It seemed to be his ideas and not the ideas of the Holy Spirit supported by biblical scripture. And the Holy Spirit brought to mind the question: “How can you speak for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and yet not reference one single scripture from the bible, the anointed word of God. Maybe Wayne Grudem referenced scriptures from the bible later on in his writing, but he had already lost me as a reader. We are God’s ambassadors and referencing the word of God is so important when teaching and trying to feed God’s children spiritual food; the meat of the word. It's like eating spaghetti and meatballs without any sauce. It's dry and uninteresting. As I stated, I stopped reading the book and closed it quickly. I also realized that the things Wayne Grudem stated, in his book, were not in agreement with what I was taught and what I grew to know from my experience and my walk with the Lord. All this urged me to find out all I could about the writer, Wayne Grudem. What was his religious background, who influenced his writings, etc., because it was obvious he was not influenced by the Holy Spirit. While doing my research, I learned more than I felt was necessary, but God knew exactly what he was doing. And all information is valuable information if used in the right way. What I learned validated what I already knew concerning biblical doctrine on salvation. I just didn’t know it had a name associated with it like "once saved always saved" or "eternal security." Remember, I stated earlier I was not “seminary taught” but taught by the Holy Spirit. I did not attend seminary school to learn what I know about God, his son Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. They taught me what I know. What I now know was revealed to me through the Holy Spirit. So theology terms, not mentioned in the bible, were never in my vocabulary.
In my study and research on this subject, I learned there are two biblical interpretations regarding salvation:
1. "Calvinism" theology of John Calvin (10 July 1509 – 27 May 1564).
2. “Arminianism" theology of Jacobus Arminius (October 10, 1560 – October 19, 1609) .
Now the question is, which is biblically accurate? Let's look at "Once Saved Always Saved" and find out why the two theologians John Calvin and Jacobus Arminius came to their conclusions. This is a long form text area designed for your content that you can fill up with as many words as your heart desires. You can write articles, long mission statements, company policies, executive profiles, company awards/distinctions, office locations, shareholder reports, whitepapers, media mentions and other pieces of content that don’t fit into a shorter, more succinct space.
Articles – Good topics for articles include anything related to your company – recent changes to operations, the latest company softball game – or the industry you’re in. General business trends (think national and even international) are great article fodder, too.
Mission statements – You can tell a lot about a company by its mission statement. Don’t have one? Now might be a good time to create one and post it here. A good mission statement tells you what drives a company to do what it does.
Company policies – Are there company policies that are particularly important to your business? Perhaps your unlimited paternity/maternity leave policy has endeared you to employees across the company. This is a good place to talk about that.
Executive profiles – A company is only as strong as its executive leadership. This is a good place to show off who’s occupying the corner offices. Write a nice bio about each executive that includes what they do, how long they’ve been at it, and what got them to where they are.
John Calvin was an influential French theologian and pastor during the Protestant Reformation. He was a principal figure in the development of the system of Christian theology called Calvinism. The theological position of Calvinism was not invented by John Calvin, he just systematizes it. John Calvin was influenced by an early church father named Augustine of Hippo (13 November 354 – 28 August 430) also known as Saint Augustine or Saint Austin.
The Catholic Church holds him in very high regard. He had a lot to do with organizing some of the Catholic church’s theology such as “purgatory.” Which, as you know, is not mentioned in the 66 books of the bible; however, it is mentioned in the Apocrypha, which is a set of texts included in the Latin Vulgate and Septuagint but not in the Hebrew Bible, which was transcribed from the “Masoretic Text.” Making its writings and authorship questionable. Some believe it was the Catholic Church’s way of squeezing in their hidden agenda into the King James Version Bible. In fact, you can find the Apocrypha placed between the old and new testament in the 1611 publications of King James Version Bible. The Apocrypha is also called the lost books of the bible, they are no longer found in later versions of the King James Version bibles.
The main focus of Calvinism is the systematic theology of biblical interpretations regarding salvation and can be defined by five bullet points that make up the acronym T.U.L.I.P.
The fifth point of Calvinism, the last point, the “Perseverance of the Saints,” describes the Calvinist views on "Once Saved Always Saved" theology. It is so important to talk about this because the Calvinist believes that once you are saved it is impossible to lose your salvation and this is a big error in their theology and eternal security doctrine, and I would like to show how wrong they are using the word of God to support my belief.

Calvinism supports the theological belief known as “Once saved always saved (OSAS)”, also called the doctrine of “Eternal Security.” Calvinism is composed of five points known by its acronym “T.U.L.I.P.” Once Saved Always Saved is the fifth point of Calvinism, “P-erseverance of all saints.” Below is a list of all five points and their descriptions:
T-otal depravity – Human beings are so affected by the negative consequences of original sin that they are incapable of being righteous, and are always unchangeable sinful; human freedom is totally enslaved by sin so we can only choose evil.
U-nconditional election – Since human beings cannot choose for themselves, God by his eternal decree has chosen or elected some to be counted as righteous, without any conditions being placed on that election.
L-imited atonement – The effects of the Atonement, by which God forgave sinful humanity, are limited only to those whom he has chosen.
I-rresistible grace – The grace that God extends to human beings to effect their election cannot be refused since it has been decreed by God.
P-erseverance of all saints – Since God has decreed the elect, and they cannot
resist grace, they are unconditionally and eternally secure in that election.
His teachings held to the five set of Biblical principles held by theologians and clergy regarding the doctrine of salvation taught by the Lutheran and other Lutheran Reformers, but they were very different from the teachings of John Calvin, and other Protestant Reformers. Jacobus Arminius (Jakob Harmenszoon) was a student of Theodore Beza (Calvin's successor) at the Theological University of Geneva. Arminianism is known to some theological studies on doctrines of salvation that differed from those of Protestant Calvinist Christianity. However, to others, Arminianism is a reclamation of early Church theology. The original beliefs of Jacobus Arminius beliefs were influenced by John Wesley (28 June 1703 – 2 March 1791), and others. Jacobus Arminius was the main contributor to the "Classical Arminianism," and John Wesley, was the main contributor to the "Wesleyan Arminianism," both make up the Arminianism doctrine on salvation.
Arminianism is based on theological ideas of the Dutch Reformed theologian Jacobus Arminius and his historic supporters known as Remonstrants. The Arminianism considered the Five Articles of Remonstrance:
Free Will - Human beings are sinful and without God, incapable (deprived) on their own of being righteous; however, they are not irredeemably sinful and can be transformed by God’s grace; God’s grace restores to “free will” to mankind.
Conditional Election – God has chosen that all mankind be righteous by his grace, but has called us to respond to that grace by exercising our free will and electing to fulfill our election.
Universal Atonement – The effects of the atonement are freely available to mankind who God has chosen and that includes all human beings who chose to do so.
Resistible Grace – God’s grace is free and offered without merit. It is a gift of God; however, human beings can resist or refuse God’s gift of grace.
Perseverance of Some Saints – Assurance and Security; there is security in God’s grace that allows assurance of salvation, but that security is in relation to continued faithfulness; we can still refuse or reject God’s love and grace.
Below is a detailed look at Calvinism and Arminianism and a discussion what scriptures validate their argument, which doctrine is accurate in their interpretation based on biblical scriptures, and which theology can be categorized as a “false doctrine."
"False Doctrine" is any theological statement or idea that adds to, takes away from, contradicts, or nullifies the doctrine given in God’s Word. "Doctrine" is a set of ideas or beliefs that are taught or believed to be true according to the word of God. "Biblical Doctrine" refers to teachings that align with the Word of God, the Bible.
5 POINTS OF CALVINISM
by John Calvin
Total Depravity – Human beings are so affected by the negative consequences of original sin that they are incapable of being righteous, and are always unchangeable sinful; human freedom is totally enslaved by sin so we can only choose evil.
Unconditional Election – Since human beings cannot choose for themselves, God by his eternal decree has chosen or elected some to be counted as righteous, without any conditions being placed on that election.
Limited Atonement – The effects of the Atonement, by which God forgave sinful humanity, are limited only to those whom he has chosen.
Irresistible Grace – The grace that God extends to human beings to effect their election cannot be refused since it has been decreed by God.
Perseverance of All Saints – Since God has decreed the elect, and they cannot resist grace, they are unconditionally and eternally secure in that election.
5 POINTS OF ARMINIANISM
by Jacobus Arminius
Free Will - Human beings are sinful and without God, incapable (deprived) on their own of being righteous; however, they are not irredeemably sinful and can be transformed by God’s grace; God’s grace restores “free will” to mankind.
Total depravity
We are completely unable to save ourselves. We are completely in sin.
Calvinists support their theology on salvation with the following scriptures:
Human beings are so affected by the negative consequences of original sin that they are incapable of being righteous and are always unchangeable sinful; human freedom is totally enslaved by sin so we can only choose evil.
Unconditional Election, Predestination
Salvation is purely by his grace, there is nothing we can do to obtain grace it’s just freely given. It’s not by works. We do not merit this grace. Under Calvinism God simply wills our election. You have nothing to say in the matter. God wills it therefore you are. We have been predestined; predestination. Scriptures that Calvinists provide to support this theology are:
However, the biblical reality of that interpretation is different. Unconditional election is not consistent with scripture. We as believers must rely on all the scriptures in the bible for a full understanding of the interpretation on the subject. Example, Ephesians 1:4, "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:" We realize yes it is true we are predestined. I believe in predestination, but not as the Calvinist do. But as Paul details it and explains it. Look at what Paul says in Scripture 1:3, “just as he chose us in him.” How are we chosen? We are chosen in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ. To himself according to good pleasure of his will. Read the bible from Genesis to Revelation going back to the Totality of scriptures. You will discover something and that is this an Election is not unconditional, but conditional. Grace is a gift and every gift is conditional upon acceptance of the gift. Yes, the gift is free. No, you did not merit it. No, you did not deserve it. It is a free gift, but it is contingent; it is conditional upon your acceptance. Biblical examples that show us God’s election is conditional:
Limited Atonement
Jesus died only for the elect…not for everyone. Only for a specific group of people. The scriptures used by the Calvinist to support this false doctrine are:
Calvinist will use these scriptures to support their theology and say ‘You have no say in the matter. It is just God showing you grace; therefore, his will is imposed upon you; therefore, it is. Now these scriptures can be interpreted that Jesus died for the elect if you are not looking at all the scriptures from Genesis to Revelation. Scriptures as a whole.
When you look at all the scriptures as a whole you start to realize that evidence that contradicts this theology is quite evident especially when you start to look at the statement that Christ died only for the elect; a special group of people, this idea starts to dissolve when you read John 3:16, “16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God so loved the WORLD…That WHOSOEVER believeth in him shall be saved. This is clearly conditional. Yes, limited atonement exists but not in the sense that is being portrayed in Calvinism. Limited atonement exists in the sense that you have the free will to choose but only those who are actually going to make it are those who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and keep his commandments; that is obey his word.
Make no mistake the option of grace has been given to the entire world but no way will Jesus impose his will against ours. He wants us to love him; to choose him over anything in this world. He wants us to freely give our love to him. "God is a jealous god and thou shalt have no other gods before him," Exodus 20:3-5. If we did not have free will then there would be no need for god to be jealous because he would make us do what he wanted:
Irresistible Grace
When God calls his elect into Salvation they cannot resist. This point is related to unconditional election and limited atonement. Calvinist believe that an individual does not accept salvation of God on free will, but God’s will is imposed upon them. They cannot resist God’s will. They use the example Larsarus, who had been dead four days and Jesus cries out for Larsarus to come forth. Larsarus did not have a chose in the matter. Jesus gave a command and there was nothing else for Larsarus to do but obey it. He could not reject God's command. When calls the dead to come forth, no they cannot reject God's command, but those that are living can resist or reject God's command, because in their living state they have the ability to obey or not obey God's command. John 5:28-29, "28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”
But as a Calvinist this is what the Lord is doing for Salvation, he is willing his Salvation upon you. Scripture contradicts this over and over again. Example of the people of God who refused God’s grace, this irresistible grace you will find is resistible:
Perseverance of the Saints
Galatians 1:6, "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you into the grace of Christ and turning to a different gospel, not that there is a different gospel, but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ."
Perseverance of the Saints, also known as Once Saved Always Saved or Eternal Security. This is a theology that states it is impossible for someone who gets saved to lose their salvation.
Calvinism is the belief that you cannot lose your salvation after you come before the Lord and confess your sins, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and Savior, you had a life transformation (regeneration, born again), and is walking according to the commandments of God. If you do, then you were never saved.
If they fall away by being sucked into the cares of the world and lusts of the flesh and begin walking in the flesh. Under the theology of Calvinism, under the “P;” the fifth point, "perseverance of the saints" that individual was never saved. This belief system says that if you walk outside your faith then it is proof that you were never really saved, and such theological teaching is quite dangerous. It has the ability to cause someone, unknowingly, to sever his or her own conscious; to sever the "godly sorrow"the Holy Spirit gives us that convicts us that leads us to repentance that leads us to salvation, 2 Corinthians 7.
Eternal Security under Calvinist theology should be called a “false sense of security.” The very teaching itself removes the pain that is from the Holy Spirit; the pain of "godly sorrow" that leads us to repentance. I want Holy Spirit to let me know when I am displeasing the Lord so that I can correct what ever is not right in my life.
Scriptures Calvinist use to support their theology on “eternal Security”:
Calvinist's only defense for their theology "once saved always saved" and their "eternal security" doctrine, is that if you walk away from God and begin walking in the flesh; you were never saved from the start. I will provide more on the subject of "Perseverance of the Saints" and why this doctrine is false based on scriptures. I will look further into the verses the Calvinist use to defend their argument for their theology of eternal security or once saved always saved doctrine and provide scriptures why I agree with Arminianism's theology and why it is the true doctrine concerning salvation. (Galatians 1:6)
A more in dept look int0 the verses the Calvinist use to defend their argument for their theology of eternal security or once saved always saved. Show the many holes in this false doctrine.
because it affects the way we process information, such as spiritual concepts and how we rationalize issues that come into our lives. It is appealing and comforting to know you cannot lose your salvation, but this is not what the bible teaches.
The following scriptures confirm that “once saved always saved/eternal security” is a false doctrine of theology:
Exodus 32:31-33, 31 And Moses returned unto the Lord, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold. 32 Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. 33 And the Lord said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
Moses was meeting with God on Mount Sinai. Moses received the 10 commandments, the law of God written with the finger of God. When the people of Israel saw that Moses was delayed coming down from the mount, they decided to make golden idols and began serving them. This was a sin before God. Moses Interceded for the people of Israel “and God told Moses that whoever has sinned against me, I will blot him out of my book.” Under the theology “once saved always saved,” no one can be blotted out of the book of life. But according to scripture individual’s names can be written in the book, and can be blotted out of the book of life, because of sin; chosing to disobey God.
Hebrews 10:26-31, 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
“If we sin willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth;” that is, after repenting and accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. After establishing a relationship with him “there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins;” that is, your name will be blotted out of the book of life, because there is no more sacrifice for your sins. It goes on to say that anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy under the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more punishment do you suppose you shall receive who you thought worthy rejected the Son of God and the Spirit of grace? The word says that the Lord tells us, “vengeance is mine, I will repay,” and that “the Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Once we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and become followers of Christ, we should strive every day to do the will of God. If we sin, we should repent immediately, asking our Lord to forgive us and to restore us in his grace.
Acts 17:30, 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent.
You can lose your salvation because salvation is based upon free will. Salvation is based on free will. It is our desire to wake up each morning to serve god. You fight and war against Satan and chose God. If you chose Satan over God you will reap what you sow and you can be blotted out of the book of life. Man can lose salvation because salvation is based on free will. We can chose or not to serve god. God wants us to desire him. He does not want to force us to love him.
Revelation 3:1-5, 1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. 2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. 3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. 4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. 5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
To the church in Sardis, these are believers. Their works have not been found to be perfect. Hold fast to the Law, to what they have heard and been taught and repent. If they continue to disobey God they will be blotted out of the book of life. The entire bible warns us all that our name will be blotted out of the book of life, if we choose to disobey the law of God.
Here are some living examples of individuals in the bible losing their Salvation. These individuals had the grace of God and that grace was taken, because they sinned, disobeyed the law of God.
SAUL - Saul lost his salvation.
He was called by God, 1 Samuel 10:1.
John 6:44, 44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:65, 65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
He was anointed as king over Israel, 1 Samuel 10:1
He was anointed by the Holy Spirit of God, 1 Samuel 10:6
He prophesied among the prophets of Israel, 1 Samuel 10:6
God was with Saul, 1 Samuel 10:7
He rebelled against God; he rebelled against the commandments of the Lord and here is how God responded to Saul:
1 Samuel 15:10-11, 10 Then came the word of the Lord unto Samuel, saying, 11 It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the Lord all night.
1 Samuel 15:23-28, 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king. 24 And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. 25 Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the Lord. 26 And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel. 27 And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent. 28 And Samuel said unto him, The Lord hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.
1 Samuel 16:13-15, 13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah. 14 But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him. 15 And Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee.
God warns us what happens when we sin against god. Saul was rejected and David was selected. The spirit of the Lord departed from Saul; why? Because Saul disobeyed; Saul sinned. In Isaiah 59:2, 2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Sin will separate you from god; he fell out of god’s grace. Psalm 5, “4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.” The word says that the God will not dwell with evil. God does not dwell among sinners and the Holy Spirit does not dwell in an unclean temple. God is holy. When we approach God we are to admonish him as holy. Be ye holy as I am holy, .1 Peter 1:16.
DAVID – David lost his salvation.
He was a man after God’s own heart, 1 Samuel 13:14.
He was anointed as king over Israel, 1 Samuel 13:14.
He was called by God, 1 Samuel 16:12.
He was anointed by the Holy Spirit of God, 1 Samuel 16:13.
Saul was David’s “armor bearer,” 1 Samuel 16:21.
He found favor in Saul’s sight, 1 Samuel 16:22.
He played the harp so that the evil spirit on Saul would depart, 1 Samuel 16:23.
God was with David
1 Samuel 17:36, 36 Thy servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he hath defied the armies of the living God.
1 Samuel 17:45-46, 45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. 46 This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
He rebelled against God by sinning and disobeying the commandments of God.
a. He committed adultery with Bathsheba and got her pregnant, 2 Samuel 11:2-5, 2 Now when evening came David arose from his bed and walked around on the roof of the king’s house, and from the roof he saw a woman bathing; and the woman was very beautiful in appearance. 3 So David sent and inquired about the woman. And one said, “Is this not Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?” 4 David sent messengers and took her, and when she came to him, he lay with her; and when she had purified herself from her uncleanness, she returned to her house. 5 The woman conceived; and she sent and told David, and said, “I am pregnant.”
b. He committed murder, by sending Uriah to the front, 2 Samuel 12:14, 14 Now in the morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it by the hand of Uriah. 15 He had written in the letter, saying, “Place Uriah in the front line of the fiercest battle and withdraw from him, so that he may be struck down and die…”
c. He shredded to much blood; therefore, will not build the temple, 2 Samuel 7:13-15, 13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever. 14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: 15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.
Based on these two examples taken from the bible, grace and mercy can be taken; as a result, your faith can be lost. So you have free will to choose. Joshua 24:15, 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Choose this day whom you will serve the Lord or the devil.
It is important to remember when we approach God we are to admonish him as holy. Be ye holy as I am holy. And repent of all sin once we have been enlightened, tasted the gift of salvation, become partakers of the Holy Ghost, and tasted the good word of God. If we do not, then we will be blotted out of the book of life. God does not dwell among sinners and the Holy Spirit does not dwell in an unclean temple:
§ Hebrews 6:4-6, 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
Matthew 7:21, 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Man can loose his salvation if he is not careful. Because salvation is based upon free will. God did not make robots his angelic beings in heaven also have free will to choose him or not to choose him. We have to desire him, he wants to be desired. The reason for teaching about OSAS, is because it is a complete myth. It is a fabrication. It is a perversion of what the bible professes and this perversion is wreaking havoc on the church, because Satan has gone out to kill the “pain of godly sorrow,” which leads us to repentance. So instead of believers being horrified by sin, not liking sin, and dropping to their knees in repentance, they take a different approach. They state that there is nothing to worry about, that grace is a free gift and in this free gift we can do nothing to deserve it or earn it. It is not established by works therefore we will do nothing about it. This is the DANGER of this theology. The church is left incapacitated and paralyzed. If you strip down the layers of this theology you can see what Satan is doing. He is stripping the “fear of God” from the church. Fear of God is health to our soul. It is the key to prevention; preventing us from sinning and keeps us striving to serve and do God’s will. We need this fear.
Calvinist believe that once you are saved you cannot lose your salvation and if you walk outside your faith then it proves you were never saved. Arminianism Believes that you can lose your salvation if you choose to rebel against God by not obeying his commandment and refuse to believe and accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and repent.
Every part of a true sentence must be "true." If any one part of the sentence is false, then the whole sentence is false despite many other true statements. Which Doctrine (Calvinist or Arminianism) passes the true/false test:
When we look at the Calvinist Doctrine, all five points receive a red x signifying the statement is false according to biblical doctrine, the bible. And since each point is false, we must conclude that the Calvinist doctrine is a “false doctrine.” Now when we take a look at the biblical doctrine supporting Arminianism, each statement receives a red checkmark, signifying each statement is correct based on the word of God; and therefore, we must conclude that the biblical doctrines accurately support Arminianism.
